Why visit the Andaman and Nicobar Islands?

It was our honeymoon, so we decided to make it cheerful and memorable. We discussed various places for our honeymoon destination, e.g., Shimla, Mussoorie, Kerala, Goa, and Thailand. However, we were highly confused. So, we took the map of India and the Andaman Islands immediately caught our attention. Hence, a honeymoon trip to Andaman Nicobar Islands was what we decided. There were several reasons for this:

First, because we’ve never been to such a place and secondly, we never intended to go outside India, because we love our incredible India. We finalized the place and booked all the honeymoon package, flights, and other things almost immediately.

Our flight was from New Delhi to Port Blair, the capital of Andaman and Nicobar Islands, and that was where our honeymoon trip to Andaman Nicobar Islands began. Andaman greeted us with a great weather and cool breezes at almost all the places we visited. We reached our hotel, rested for a few hours, and refreshed ourselves with a few drinks and some snacks. Soon we started our journey to explore various places in Andaman, learn about the history of this island and witness the beautiful nature. We started with the Cellular jail, had the sweetest possible Nariyal Paani outside the jail.

On Our Honeymoon Trip to Andaman & Nicobar Islands, We Visited All Popular Places in the Andaman Islands:

1. Cellular Jail– The Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Pani, was constructed by the British to exile political prisoners here and they put them here under isolation. Prominent freedom fighters like Batukeshwar Dutt, Yogendra Shukla, and many others were imprisoned here. The monument was declared as a national monument in 1969. This is a must-visit place on a honeymoon trip to Andaman Nicobar Islands.

2. Corbyn’s Cove- Corbyn’s Cove is a nice beach located close to Port Blair. The beach has facilities for water sports activities.

3. Havelock Island– Havelock Island has a couple of quaint and pristine beaches. The Radhanagar Beach is one of the most romantic places on this island. The other beaches here are Elephant and Kalapathar Beach. This is one of the best places to be on your honeymoon trip to Andaman Nicobar Islands.

4. Ross Island- It houses some historic ruins and was once a settlement built by the British.

5. Radha Nagar Beach– The Radhanagar Beach is one of the famous beaches on this island and offers superb views. A perfect place for long walks on the beach or just to relax.

6. Elephant Beach– This is one of the other beaches in Havelock island. There are shallow waters here which house a number of corals and therefore is a superb place for snorkelling.

7. Kala Pathar Beach- This beach in Havelock Island gets its name from the black rocks that are present along this coastline. It is surrounded by tropical jungles.

8. Chidiya Tapu- Chidiya Tapu is a small portion of lush green forest which is famous for birdwatching.

9. Neil Island– The Neil Island is home to a number of unexplored and deserted beaches which are quite different from the other beaches on the islands. There are three major beaches here namely the Sitapur, Ramnagar, and Lakshmanpura. A must visit place for all couples on their honeymoon trip to Andaman Nicobar Islands.

10. North Bay island- The North Bay is famous for snorkelling and scuba diving.
